The official Power Rangers Movie Instagram account released the identity of the actor playing the Red Ranger in their 2017 production of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers!
Dacre Montgomery is pretty much an unknown. His credits include a pilot trailer and a short film. Which means that our soon-to-be fearless leader is fresh, and quite possibly just what the property needs.
Dacre joins Pink Ranger Naomi Scott in Power Rangers, coming 2017!
Initially announced by our friends in the Power Force, the new Power Ranger movie is officially set to release July 22, 2016!

Broken by website Hollywood News and corroborated by Saban Brands, Lionsgate and Fury Diamond of RangerCrew as a member of Power Force, part of the creative team for the new Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers movie has been announced!
Roberto Orci of Transformers and Star Trek fame will be Executive Producer and will be developing the story along with announced script writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, both previously wrote for X-Men: First Class. Haim Saban will be producing along with Brian Casentini and Allison Shearmur.
According to the article from Hollywood News, Lionsgate Co-President Erik Feig and Executive Vice President of Production and Development Jim Miller will be overseeing the production.
