HELLOOOOOOOOO TOKUSATSU FANDOM!

DJ MonkieRanger is BACK with our first post-hiatus site entry, starting with a contest straight from WeLoveFine!

Having been announced by the brilliant folks within the Power Force, this contest is similar to the contest that was conducted by Threadless (but hopefully will run smoother). You have until 11:59pm PST on September 25, 2015 to get your entries in, folks! Let’s get this done!

Guest judges will include Saban Brands Vice President Brian Casentini, Power Force member and YouTube star Andre Meadows, Assistant Editor at Boom! Studios Alex Galer, and Hot Topic.

You can find the rules and regulations on WeLoveFine‘s website!

Monkie Grid Desk

Hey there, Ranger heads;

It’s been a wild ride, but at some point, things must come to an end, if even temporarily.

I’ve decided that it’s time to shutter The Monkie Grid. It won’t be forever, but at least for the time being. I’ve stumbled a bit on my personal path, and it’s affected some people who I never intended to involve. Some emotionally, others financially.

Unfortunately, intent is one thing, but execution is a whole different beast altogether. So, I need to reel back and re-assess my priorities. It’s never a fun thing, to look inward, but there are times where it must be done. The way I am now, I feel I really don’t deserve to be among the ranks of fine folks who help bring you all the news and coverage that you see and love. Maybe I’ll get back to a point where I feel otherwise. Who knows.

I’ll be throwing together one final recording for the road, which will help promote the guests of this year’s Rangerstop. After that point, I’ll be spending the next week changing visual images around. I won’t be shutting down any pages or sites, as I do plan to return, but I’ve come to learn that things don’t always go your way when you plan ahead.

So keep it live with that funky-fresh henshin beat, and once more, with feeling;

It’s Morphin Time!

Sincerely;

Lee Roberts a.k.a. DJ MonkieRanger

The Power Force and You

Monkie Grid Desk

With the announcement of Boom! Studios’ partnership with Saban Brands to create a new Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers comic book series, Ranger fans have been wondering why this information was released by Entertainment Weekly and The Hollywood Reporter and not Saban’s own hand-picked Power Force.

Read on after the jump.

Figuarts_Logo copy

“But DJ MonkieRanger, Tamashii Nations already announced Kamen Rider 3!” Yes, this is true. BUT. But, but, but, Bluefin has announced, via their Facebook Page, stateside U.S. Standard pricing with a release date of December 2015 for this character that was intoduced in Kamen Rider Taisen GP!

What does this mean? It means that you won’t have to worry about finding that middleman any time soon. Just means you need to find out where it will be sold!

Keep a weather eye on The Monkie Grid, and we will update when we find out the outlets in which Kamen Rider 3 will be available.
